This term in Upper Key Stage 2, the children have been learning about the topic Child’s War. They have looked at ration books and how food was rationed during the war. This week, the children have had lots of fun making eggless sponge cakes to help them understand rationing and learn various ingredients – they even had a go at measuring the ingredients themselves!
Their next topic will be learning about the Blitz and how children were evacuated to keep them safe. We can’t wait!
We are delighted to announce that we, Salisbury Primary School, have achieved the School Games Silver Mark Award for the 2018/19 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in
2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of
participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that
the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
Well done everyone!
Our garden is underway. Of course we have so much to do but already we are having some lovely results. Eco Councillors are really starting to show their green fingers which is wonderful to see.
We are pleased to announce that we will be relaunching our Facebook page on Monday 20th May 2019. You may see some test posts before this date.

Can you spot your classroom?
at Walsall Town Hall
Every child has made a poppy for Remembrance Day. These will go on display from Friday afternoon in Walsall Town Hall.
We hope you get a chance to visit it.
Pictures of the display will be posted once in place.
These pictures appeared on the official Facebook page of the Mayor of Walsall.
Thank you to Walsall for allowing us to take part in the event.
